The Class of 2023 invites you to their Senior Expo Night & Awards, a celebration of their high school careers on Wednesday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chatham High School gymnasium. Come see our seniors’ displays highlighting their many personal accomplishments as students here at Chatham CSD. The evening wraps up with our Seniors Awards Ceremony in the CHS auditorium.

Chatham CSD will be closed Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. The CHS and CMS marching bands will be participating in our communities' Memorial Day events. CHS marches in Ghent at 9:00 a.m. and both CHS and CMS march in Chatham at 11:00 a.m.
The Chatham CSD music department's beloved Music in the Park concert will take place Thursday, June 8, 6pm in the CHS auditorium (relocated from PS21 due to poor outdoor air quality). This community event features ensembles from our middle and high schools and is totally free. The Fine Arts Booster Club will be selling rootbeer floats as a fundraiser. Music in the Park takes place rain, shine, or smog!

Voter registration Wednesday, May 10, 2023 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Mary E. Dardess Elementary School lobby. If you are not registered to vote with either the county board of elections or the school district and want to vote in our upcoming Budget Vote and Board of Education Election, you can register with the school district at this time.

The Smith Pond annual trail maintenance is Saturday May 20 from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m. Join friends and neighbors to clear downfall along the trail and remove invasive brush and vines. Our annual Budget Hearing is May 9 at 6pm in the CHS library, where school officials will present details of the proposed 2023-24 school budget.

Sometime between Tuesday, 4/25 and Thursday, 4/27, we will practice lockdown drills in all three of our school buildings. Officers from the Chatham Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police will assist us.
Typically, we would not notify you in advance of our drill, however, due to the recent swatting threats to area schools and the anxiety they caused, we wanted to let you know we will be holding these lockdown drills this week.
During this week’s drill, we will also be testing our new lockdown alarm that makes an automated lockdown announcement within the buildings; this will be new to our students and staff.
It is important that we periodically practice these drills with as many different variables as possible; our goal is to make sure our students and staff are prepared and safe.

Dear Chatham Community,
some of you have brought to our attention that a local media outlet had incorrectly reported that Chatham was one of the schools targeted yesterday by the mass swatting calls that took place around the region. We wanted to thank you for bringing this to our attention and make clear that Chatham was not one of the schools that was targeted. We have contacted the news agency that made the incorrect report, and they have corrected the error.
