Universal Prekindergarten

Chatham Central School District will be expanding its prekindergarten offerings beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Our pre-k program is open to children who will turn four (but not five) years of age on or before December 1, 2023 and who are residents of the District. This will be a full-day program with access to the school’s breakfast and lunch program. Transportation will be provided for children age 4 and older.

Registration is open from March 1 through April 15, 2023. If demand exceeds the seats available, the District will utilize a lottery system with parent/guardian notification in the spring via phone call and letter home. Any registrants after April 15 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Chatham Central School District is also seeking a partnership with one or more community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide the universal prekindergarten (UPK) program. It is anticipated that two seats will be available for a CBO to host UPK students in their own location. The District is soliciting proposals from qualified providers in a request for proposals . The application is below and is due May 1, 2023.
