The Board of Education has scheduled a Special Executive Session for Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the superintendent's conference room, MED.
Registration for our 2024-25 kindergarten class begins in February. PRE-K registration is open! Please register by March 31, 2024. Spaces are limited and if demand exceeds the seats available, the District will utilize a lottery system. Any registrants after March 31 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Open to children who will turn four (but not five) years of age on or before December 1, 2024. The CHS musical is selling ad space in the program for their production of Little Shop of Horrors. Ad revenue is used to pay for program printing, purchasing of equipment, and general support of students and extracurricular initiatives in the music/theatre department. Sometime during the week of February 12, 2024, CCSD will practice lockdown drills in all three of our school buildings. Officers from the Chatham Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police will assist us.
The Chatham Panthers play in the Patroon Conference Coaches vs Cancer Weekend this Saturday, February 10 at Columbia-Greene Community College. Our varsity girls basketball team plays Hudson at 11:30am and our boys varsity basketball team plays Rensselaer at 1:00pm. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

The Board of Ed. has scheduled a Special Executive Session for Thursday, February 8, 5:45 p.m. in the superintendent's conference room, MED. The Board anticipates immediately entering Executive Session for the express purpose of interviewing consultants related to the superintendent search and does not anticipate conducting any business or voting on any items when it returns to open session.

The Athletic Booster Club is holding a meeting on February 12th at 7pm at the high school to discuss the future of the Booster Club. This includes finding new officers and members to be able to sustain the Booster Club, which aids Chatham CSD’s athletic teams/programs. Without members, the Booster Club could be in jeopardy of dissolving. If you are interested in joining the Booster Club, please plan to attend the meeting as well as help spread the word.
The 8th grade is selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits to raise money for an end-of-the-year trip to Boston. To reach their goal, they need everyone’s help. Important info for CHS students:
Regents exams are delayed until 9 am. Students should report by 9 am if they are scheduled for Geometry or U.S History and Government Regents exams.
The A.P. US History midterm exam has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 24 at 12:30 pm.
The English 10 midterm, the Pre AP English 10 midterm, and the English 10 Concepts midterm have all been rescheduled to Thursday, January 25 at 12:30 pm.
All other exams will take place as scheduled.

Chatham CSD is examining the sustainability of our football program. Participation numbers have dropped in the last few years. The Board of Education is committed to a process that examines all aspects of the program and what future options are in the best interest of our students and community before any decision is made. As part of this process, the District would like to gauge interest in the program and obtain a projection of participation for the Fall 2024 season at the Modified 9 (grades 7-9) and Varsity (grades 10-12) levels. We are asking any students in grades 6-11 who may be considering playing football for Chatham to complete this brief survey. The survey results will inform the Board’s decision on the direction it will take for the 2024 Fall season.

Board of Education meetings will begin at 5:00 p.m., starting with the January 23, 2024 meeting. We anticipate the 5:00 p.m. start time to continue through the May 28, 2024 meeting and the 6:00 p.m. start time to resume with the June 11, 2024 meeting.
