firefighters show students fire truck

Volunteer firefighters from communities across the Chatham Central School District visited MED to talk to our students about fire safety and what to do if there is ever a fire emergency at school or at home. They came dressed in the special safety equipment they wear when putting out fires and, of course, brought along some of those cool fire trucks too! After the morning assemblies, MED held a fire drill and the firefighters then went classroom to classroom to talk with the students and answer questions. Our pre-k and kindergarten students even got a visit from Sparky the fire prevention dog! Special thanks to our volunteer firefighters from the Chatham, Ghent, East Chatham, Spencertown, and Austerlitz fire companies who came out to MED today.
