Amanda Marie Roberts, daughter of Cynthia and Gregory Roberts of Canaan, NY is Chatham High School’s Class of 2022 Salutatorian.

Throughout her time at Chatham High School, Amanda has participated in a variety of clubs and activities including Model Congress, American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, and the CHS band, jazz band, and pit orchestra. She is a member of both the Tri-M Music Honor Society, where she serves as the secretary, and the National Honor Society. She has also been on the Varsity Softball and Varsity Track teams, and has enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, and playing travel softball during her high school years. Amanda loves playing trumpet as the principal in the Empire State Youth Orchestra, and a five-year member of the Ghent Band. Last year, she received a perfect score at the NYSSMA Solo Festival to earn a position in the NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band. She has volunteered to help her church with Vacation Bible School, and assisted with fundraisers for a parish in Haiti. 

Some of her academic accomplishments include numerous Student of the Quarter, Highest Average, and Excellence in Effort awards, as well as the Clarkson University Leadership Award, the Gellert Cornell Admissions Invitation, the Martin Van Buren History Award, and high honor roll status at Chatham High School.

 In the fall, Amanda will attend Wellesley College to major in neuroscience and minor in music.
