This October, Chatham Central School District formed a Future Planning Committee, which will play an important advisory role in evaluating how our declining student enrollment may impact the District’s long-term operational needs, use of facilities, and costs. The Committee will also be tasked with exploring and prioritizing several possible scenarios - from maintaining the current school building footprint to consolidating programs or repurposing space. The Board of Education hired a consultant firm, Zeal Education Group, in may to work with the District and our community through this multi-year process.

From there, school officials will share the scenarios with all community members for feedback. Ultimately, any decision that gets made will be that of the Board of Education based on the data and feedback we receive.
