Dear Chatham Families,
We are writing to share an important update regarding late bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. To adjust for lower overall ridership, provide more accurate drop-off times, and manage transportation expenses responsibly, we have consolidated our late bus service into three buses (down from seven).
Because of this consolidation, we have established centralized bus stops along each route. Students will be dropped off at the stop closest to your home along the bus's designated route of travel. Late buses will stop at residences located directly along the bus route if those residences are district-approved bus stops. However, drivers will not turn off the designated travel route to deliver students directly to their homes or other bus stops. This is similar to our summer school stops and is in line with what other surrounding schools have implemented over the past two years.
Families are responsible for picking up their child at the stop or making arrangements for their child to walk or be picked up by someone else. Students may also be picked up at their school.
Late buses will run Tuesday to Friday for all students starting on September 22.

Please note that drop-off times are approximate and may vary depending on student ridership each day. The entire designated routes may not be utilized when a lack of students permits. Late bus leaves the high school around 3:35 Tues-Fri.
