Chatham Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dallas Carr as the District’s new treasurer. Mr. Carr joins the Chatham business office with a robust background in finance and public administration. He has been with us since May, working with our current treasurer, Patricia Juliano, to learn the ropes prior to her retirement at the end of June.
Most recently, he served as the IT administrator for the New Lebanon Central School District. In this multi-faceted role, he managed district procurements, vendor contracts, and grant-funded technology projects while overseeing district-wide technical support. Prior to managing IT operations, Carr was New Lebanon CSD's senior account clerk. In that role, he managed payroll, tracked fixed assets, and navigated the state’s complex purchasing regulations.
Carr’s work experience is backed by an academic foundation in public sector stewardship. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from SUNY Empire State College and an associate’s degree in public administration from Hudson Valley Community College. He is also civil service certified in Columbia County as both a senior account clerk and a computer services specialist. He grew up in New Lebanon and graduated from Tech Valley High School in Albany.
"I’m drawn to public administration and public affairs because I believe in the role of government to provide for its citizens,” Carr said. “While at Tech Valley I gained a true appreciation for the value of education, so the opportunity to work for a small-town school district like Chatham is something I see as a great match for me."
When not at work, Carr enjoys hiking, collecting vinyl records, and is a nationally-ranked trading card gamer who competes in tournaments around the Northeast. He and his wife are expecting their first child in August.
Please join us in extending a warm Chatham welcome to Mr. Carr, and in wishing Ms. Juliano the very best in her retirement!
