On June 3, Chatham was excited to welcome the Next Festival of Emerging Artists to work with our 7th and 8th grade orchestra students for the third consecutive year. The group joined our students for a special assembly attended by select MED grades and 6th grade students.
The assembly opened with combined pieces featuring the 7th/8th Grade Orchestra and Festival musicians. Students then enjoyed previews of several works that the ensemble featured in its concert at PS21. Through thoughtful discussion and active participation, students explored how music can express emotions, tell stories, and connect to everyday life. It was an inspiring and engaging musical experience for everyone involved!
