Tyler Gebel is the Valedictorian of Chatham High School's Class of 2026. He is the son of Annie Gebel and Scott Gebel and moved to Chatham in 2020. He has since involved himself with many activities in the district. He has been a member of four varsity sports teams, his favorite being Track and Field, where he runs the 1600m, 3200m, and 4x400m relay. Tyler has also been a member of the Artemis Robotics team for the past two years and has enjoyed his time spent helping the team where he could. In school, Tyler has been consistent, garnering 52 academic awards and having the highest average in all but three classes throughout high school. He has also been recognized for his poetry, placing in the school’s poetry competition the last three years. Out of school, Tyler has worked at the Chatham Public Library for nearly two years and enjoys volunteering at the Ghent Food Pantry during school breaks. This spring, Tyler applied for and was awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers scholarship. This scholarship will help him attend Rochester Institute of Technology this fall. He is majoring in civil engineering technology.
