group of students seated on Colombia County Courthouse steps

Chatham High School's Business Law class had an eventful day at the Columbia County Courthouse, where they saw first hand the justice system at work and learned about being a judge, lawyer, and clerk. They met with the Honorary Judge Howard, a defense attorney, a family court attorney, and an attorney representing a child. The students also had the opportunity to sit in and witness a jury selection process. They even read a transcript of Martin Van Buren's will!

Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses like our Business Law class provide students with real-world opportunities and life skills. This is just one example of what our CTE classes offer!
