students participating in stock market challenge

Chatham High School's Introduction to Business class participated in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge on March 27 at UAlbany. This is a live simulation where students take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to real-world scenarios. Three teams represented Chatham High School. Chatham Team A dominated the first round and was in the lead for 20 consecutive days. By the end of the competition, Team A came in 16th out of 126 teams. Chatham Team B came in 88th place and Chatham Team C wrapped up in 53rd. Dyer Josefsberg even won a Taco Bell gift card! Students learned a lot and had a great time! Chatham business teacher Mrs. Kreutziger would like to thank community member and financial expert Jim O'Keefe for volunteering his time and spending three class days with the students leading up to the event (pictured). A special thank you to all the sponsors and the JP Morgan volunteers as well; the event would not have happened without them.
