student pose by table with food and necessities on it

On Saturday, May 17, National Junior Honor Society and CMS key communicators joined forces to serve as "street soldiers." The Street Soldiers organization gathers monthly in Rensselaer and Albany counties to help others. Our students made sandwiches, macaroni & cheese, and cookies, and collected hygiene and food  items, which they distributed to over 100 people who are in-need or unhoused. During their reflections, our students reported acquiring new  perspectives while serving others and being struck by the smiles their efforts brought to so many. Special thanks to our families, Chatham Community Cares, and Golden Harvest Farms in Valatie for providing donations to support this project.
