5th grade science students in Mrs. Reichardt's classes worked together to develop a water filter system that would decrease the nitrate level in polluted water and increase its clarity. Students learned how to test the nitrate level of the polluted water before testing their systems. They retested the water after they filtered it in order to identify whether they met the criteria of the lab or not.
