The Mary E. Dardess Elementary School, Chatham, New York, announces the registration dates for the 2024-2025 prekindergarten class.
Registration for Chatham Central School District’s universal prekindergarten program begins in February. If you have a child who is eligible to attend pre-k this fall, please fill out our Pre-K Interest Form to register your child online now, or contact the District registrar, Emily Ponce, at quae@chatham.k12.ny.us or 518-392-1535. Ms. Ponce can answer any questions and can schedule a phone or in-person registration meeting.
Chatham’s 2024-2025 pre-k program is open to children who will turn four (but not five) years of age on or before December 1, 2024 and who are residents of the District. This is a full-day program with access to the school’s breakfast and lunch program. Transportation will be provided for children age four and older.
Please register by March 31, 2024. Spaces are limited and if demand exceeds the seats available, the District will utilize a lottery system and notify parents/guardians in the spring via phone call and letter home. Any registrants after March 31 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pre-k screening will take place on June 10 by appointment.
