Eric Litwin holding books

MED students and staff alike enjoyed a visit from Eric Litwin yesterday! Eric is a song singing, guitar strumming, #1 New York Times bestselling, award-winning author who brings early literacy and music together. He is the original author of the Pete the Cat series as well as the author of The Nuts, Groovy Joe, and The Poop Song. Eric's books have sold over 13 million copies, been translated into 17 languages, and won 26 literacy awards including a Theodor Geisel Seuss Honor Award. He gave two performances, one for our Pre-k to 2nd grade students and another for our 3rd to 5th grade students. To piggyback on all that excitement for reading Eric generated, our District purchased several of his titles from the Chatham Bookstore for use in our classrooms. The book purchases were made possible through Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER 2) funds from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, which aims to provide schools with resources to engage students in all types of learning.
