MED put out a HOUSE challenge in April for students to collect donations for area animal rescues. The drive was the idea of fifth grader Shelby Hunt. Students brought in donations such as pet food, kitty litter, treats, soft blankets, food bowls, paper towels, and more. In all, the students collected 478 items! The Red House won the challenge with the most donations collected! This week, Shelby and MED teaching assistant Barbara Schneider began delivering the goods to the rescues, which include Everlasting Hope Animal Rescue, Precious Pound Pups, and Lucky Rehabilitation Center (pictured).
