Four Chatham Central School District varsity teams made the grade for the 2022-23 winter season and have been named scholar athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). The Panthers’ girls basketball, boys basketball, boys volleyball, and bowling teams will each receive a certificate from the NYSPHSAA recognizing their high level of academic achievement. In order to be considered for this honor, each team held a collective grade point average (GPA) of 90 or better among at least 75 percent of the athletes on the roster. Any varsity athlete who held a GPA of 90 or higher will also receive a scholar athlete pin from the NYSPHSAA.
Boy's volleyball - 90 average, four athletes awarded pins
Boy's basketball - 92.22 average, six athletes awarded pins
Bowling - 92.33 average, four athletes awarded pins
Girls basketball - 94.33 TOTAL team average, all 9 athletes awarded pins!
