The seventh grade enjoyed a special visit from Smith Well Drilling as a follow up to reading A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. A Long Walk to Water is a nonfiction story that details the journeys of two children in South Sudan and their quest for water, and ultimately hope and peace. Representatives from Smith Well Drilling came in November 9 to lead students through several interactive stations, including a presentation on water wells with Jeff Smith, a water drills expo, and making mini aquifers! Special thanks to Jeff Smith, Tyler Wills, Ernie Gier, and Matt Konieczny for volunteering their time for our students!
