Mrs. Reivhardt

As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, WMHT is honoring teachers from around the region, and they have picked MED 5th grade teacher Connie Reichardt as one of their honorees! You can find WMHT’s Teacher Appreciation Week webpage here.

WMHT sent out a call for educators that deserve recognition and  Chatham’s science coach from Questar III BOCES, Nichole Bruins, answered the call, writing:

Last school year, Connie transitioned from being a fifth grade teacher of all contents to a science teacher for the fifth grade cohort. With a new program, implementation of the NYS Science Learning Standards, a new Science 5 assessment, and required investigations all changing in science, this was a large learning curve. Connie embraced it head-on and has brought science to life in her classroom. She continues to inspire students to collaborate, embrace their curiosity, and make sense of the real-world every day. Connie uses science as a means for building background knowledge so her students can build skills of being a thinker and learner, transferrable beyond her classroom.

We are truly inspired by all of the wonderful teachers in our community and thank you for all that you do for our students.
