cast of Alladin Jr.

The Chatham Middle School Drama Club presents Aladdin Jr.  Come see the talented actors portray one of the all-time favorite Disney shows. Annaleigh Butts plays Aladdin. Kaylee Couitt plays Princess Jasmine. Adelaide Searl has the comedic role of the Genie.

The story of Aladdin, from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, is a national favorite. Following several weeks of rehearsals, the dedicated CMS students with support from the CHS Theater Production and Marketing class will transport the audience to a magical place filled with beautiful music and elaborate sets and costumes.

Over thirty-five middle level students are involved in the production. The show is directed by MED teacher, Kristen Van Note, coming off a highly successful Seussical Jr. show last school year. Andrew Stein joins the production team as the music director.

High school students, Norah Sotherden and Emmet Cintron, act as stage managers for the show.

Come join the fun for one or all of the three performances! All shows will be at the Chatham Middle School auditorium and will cost $5 cash at the door. The first show is November 18th at 7:00 p.m. followed by a second show November 19th at 7:00 p.m. Finally on November 20th there will be a matinee show at 2:00 p.m.

We hope to see you there! For any questions, please contact producers Michael Loomis or Elias Assimakopoulos at loomism@chatham.k12.ny.us or Assimakopoulose@chatham.k12.ny.us, respectively.

About Theater Production & Marketing: This class is a year-long elective that focuses on teaching students about everything that must happen to put on a musical production. This includes everything seen onstage, such as costumes, hair and makeup, props, and sets, but also includes backstage work like lighting and sound. Students enrolled in the class are tasked with promoting Chatham’s productions by making posters, designing merchandise, painting sandwich boards to be put around town, and controlling the @chathammusical Instagram page (not affiliated with CHS). Students are very involved with set painting, costume design, and creating the look of the production.
