solar eclipse

Dear Chatham Families,

In order to allow them ample time to view the solar eclipse, we will be releasing all students early on Monday, April 8. We made this decision because our students’ interest in this rare event has eclipsed that of their usual activities.

Our early release schedule is as follows:

CMS: 12:50 p.m.
MED: 1:00 p.m.
CHS: 1:10 p.m.

In order to ensure everyone can safely enjoy this rare opportunity, we will be sending each student home with their own pair of eclipse viewing glasses. It is very important not to look directly at the eclipse, even when it is at its darkest point, without wearing proper eclipse viewing glasses. Looking at the eclipse with the naked eye or with regular sunglasses can cause permanent damage to your eyes, so be safe!
