The Mary E. Dardess Elementary School, Chatham, New York, announces the registration dates for the 2024-2025 kindergarten class.
Registration for Chatham Central School District’s Class of 2037 begins in February. If you have a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten this fall, please complete our Kindergarten Registration Form to register your child now, or call Mrs. Williams at (518) 392-1530 for assistance.
Children must be five years old on or before December 1, 2024 to be eligible to attend kindergarten this fall. Registration requirements include the child’s birth certificate or other proof of age and proof of immunizations (see below), as well as one proof of residency (electric or telephone bill, automobile insurance card, bank statement, driver’s license, lease or mortgage, etc.) showing street address, not post office box. Additionally, a physical examination is required to be on file by September 30. A valid physical exam for the 2024-2025 school year needs to have been completed on or after September 7, 2023.
Required proofs of immunizations include:
- Diphtheria and Tetanus toxoid-containing vaccine and Pertussis vaccine (DTap, DTP, Tdap) – 5 doses or 4 doses if the 4th dose was received at 4 years of age or older;
- Polio vaccine (IPV/OPV) - 4 doses or 3 doses if the 3rd dose was received at 4 years of age or older;
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR) - 2 doses;
- Hepatitis B vaccine - 3 doses;
- Varicella vaccine – 2 doses.

Kindergarten screening will take place in June by appointment.
