students look through woods at pond

Ms. Shetsky, Ms.Flanagan, Ms.Brandow, Ms.McCullough, and Mr.Botsford's students had a blast on their field trip to Thacher Park at the end of May! The first graders had the opportunity to take a hike and explore the park. They were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle's nest! Students also used their knowledge of animals and their habitats to discuss differences between the omnivores, herbivores, and carnivores that can be found within the park. To top it off, they had a great lunch in the Pear Orchard Pavilion and played with all of their peers on the playground. But, their favorite part of all was having the opportunity to pet a turtle and snake! Overall, it was a sssssssuper trip!
