two girls holding Moon dials

Here are some photos from Space Day in Ms. Brandow’s first grade class, which celebrated the class wrapping their astronomy unit. The students made Moon dials displaying the lunar cycle and how the Moon’s visibility changes depending on its phase. They also made rockets that they could launch using straws and built constellations using marshmallows and toothpicks. The class enjoyed having some gracious fifth graders visit to help run each of the space centers!
