As part of our Veterans Day theme, the CMS guidance department invited Sergeant Destynie Summers, a 2014 Chatham graduate, back to CMS to conduct mock career interviews with our 8th graders on November 7. Sergeant Summers, who now is a phlebotomist, served in the United States Army as a combat engineer building bridges. She interviewed students based on resumes that the student created with Mrs. Hoffman as part of our middle school's career guidance and family and consumer science programs. The focus of the interviews included their social skills, dress, and ability to express their strengths and talents, elaborate upon their extracurricular involvements, and cite what attributes they would bring to the job.
