Friday, May 17, 2024 is an early dismissal day for all schools in order to accommodate senior capstone presentations in the afternoon. The dismissal times have been set as follows: CMS 10:50 a.m., MED 11:05 a.m., CHS 11:15 a.m. Please be sure to update your calendars!

The Chatham Panthers varsity baseball team is playing in the Hope Rocks Hardball Invitational on May 4 at Cantine Field in Saugerties. It's Chatham vs. Pine Plains at 10AM. Hope Rocks is a grassroots movement to empower, engage, educate, and enlighten communities about mental health and the fight against addiction and suicide.

Enjoy a late morning or early afternoon of painting and goodies when the Class of 2027 hosts a Canvas & Cookies painting event on Saturday, April 13. Two sessions will be hosted to accommodate painters of all age groups (10am families with students k-5, Noon adults & students grade 6 and up). Sessions will be led by retired Chatham art teacher Patrice Tomaso featuring a design for elementary and a sunset scene for adults & students grade 6 and up. Cost is $15 per person, which includes a canvas and various baked goods to choose enjoy. All proceeds will benefit our freshmen class. Sometime during the week of April 8, 2024, we will hold a lockdown drill in our High School only. Officers from local law enforcement will assist us. If you have any questions, please contact the High School principal or the superintendent's office.

The CHS robotics team, Artemis (6621), is competing March 22 and 23 in the FIRST Tech Valley Regional at the MVP Arena in Albany. You can watch the competition live at https://www.twitch.tv/firstinspires9 or in person: the event is open to the public with no charge for admission!

Sometime during the week of March 25, 2024, we will practice lockdown drills in all three of our school buildings. Officers from the Chatham Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police will assist us. As you know, it is important that we periodically practice these drills with as many different variables as possible; our goal is to make sure our students and staff are prepared and safe. The CHS musical is selling ad space in the program for their production of Little Shop of Horrors. Ad revenue is used to pay for program printing, purchasing of equipment, and general support of students and extracurricular initiatives in the music/theatre department. The Chatham Panthers play in the Patroon Conference Coaches vs Cancer Weekend this Saturday, February 10 at Columbia-Greene Community College. Our varsity girls basketball team plays Hudson at 11:30am and our boys varsity basketball team plays Rensselaer at 1:00pm. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Suggested Donation: $5 - Adults $2 - Students & children age 6+ Free - Children under age 6 $12 - Family of four or more! Go Panthers!

Save the Date: In continuation of the CHS art department's prom dress donation drive, the prom dress free boutique has been scheduled for March 10 from 12-4pm in the community room at the Kinderhook Memorial Library. All that is needed to "shop" for a prom dress is your school ID. This event is open to Chatham students and students from other schools in our area.

All Chatham CSD schools are on a two-hour delay Monday, January 29, 2024 due to the winter weather advisory.

The Athletic Booster Club is holding a meeting on February 12th at 7pm at the high school to discuss the future of the Booster Club. This includes finding new officers and members to be able to sustain the Booster Club, which aids Chatham CSD’s athletic teams/programs. Without members, the Booster Club could be in jeopardy of dissolving. If you are interested in joining the Booster Club, please plan to attend the meeting as well as help spread the word.

All Chatham Central Schools will be on a 2-hour delay today, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, due to a winter weather advisory. Important info for CHS students: Regents exams are delayed until 9 am. Students should report by 9 am if they are scheduled for Geometry or U.S History and Government Regents exams. The A.P. US History midterm exam has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 24 at 12:30 pm. The English 10 midterm, the Pre AP English 10 midterm, and the English 10 Concepts midterm have all been rescheduled to Thursday, January 25 at 12:30 pm. All other exams will take place as scheduled.

All after-school activities are canceled today, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 due to the forecast for inclement weather. Tonight’s Board of Education meeting will take place as scheduled at 5:00 p.m.
