Every year, the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame take the time to recognize exceptional student athletes from around the country. Some of the criteria that they use in their selection process include:
A GPA of 3.2 or higher
Impact on the football field (starter and key contributor to the team)
Exhibited leadership qualities (on the field, in the classroom, and in the community).
Chatham High School senior Thomas Pierro checked all of their boxes and earned his selection as a representative for Chatham Ichabod Crane (CIC) Football and Section II Class B.
Thomas carries a GPA of 3.7 and spent four years at the varsity football level - three for the Chatham Panthers and one for CIC. He was a First Team All-Star Running Back, Exceptional Senior and Leadership Award recipient as a member of the CIC Football team. Thomas was also selected as an All-Star and Special Teams player of the Year while a member of the Chatham Panthers.

Thomas is an active member of his community. He consistently volunteers his time to help youth athletes in his area. You will find Thomas at nearly every Chatham Little League sponsored event helping future players improve their skills.
“Thomas is a wonderful young man and he has represented Chatham High School and our community in a manner that makes us proud,” remarked CIC Football coach Jordan McComb.
Thomas was joined by his family, CIC Coach Thomas Call, and Chatham Superintendent Andrew Kourt at the Capital District Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner in Albany on March 8, where he was honored alongside other scholar athletes from around the region.
