All five Chatham High School varsity teams made the grade and have been named scholar athlete teams for the 2025-26 winter season by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). The Panthers’ girls basketball, boys basketball, boys volleyball, bowling, and cheerleading teams will each receive a certificate from the NYSPHSAA recognizing their high level of academic achievement while playing at the varsity level. In order to qualify for this honor, each team held a collective grade point average (GPA) of 90 or better among at least 75 percent of the athletes on the roster. Any varsity athlete who held a GPA of 90 or higher will also receive a scholar athlete pin from the NYSPHSAA.
Bowling - 94.72 average, eight athletes awarded pins
Boys volleyball - 92.72 average, six athletes awarded pins
Girls basketball - 91.50 average, eight athletes awarded pins
Boys basketball - 90.43 average, three athletes awarded pins
Cheerleading - 90.13 average, three athletes awarded pins
