September 7-17, Chatham High School junior Alexis Berry will be performing as a part of the pit orchestra for the Mac-Haydn Theatre production of The Marvelous Wonderettes. She is the first student to participate in the Mac-Haydn's student musician apprenticeship program, which was developed by CHS band teacher Elias Assimakopoulos and Mac Haydn's managing director James Rodgers and music director Eric Shorey. This program gives talented local students the opportunity to perform in a professional pit orchestra for a full run of a theater production. Lexi can be seen and heard playing multiple saxophones and the flute in all 14 of the The Marvelous Wonderettes shows.
