Students from the CHS Student Government, CHS Class Officers, and CMS Key Communicators, as well as officers from the CMS Service Club and National Junior Honor Society attended the Educate to Empower STOP (Students Together Opposing Prejudice) Conference at Siena University on January 16. At this conference, students gained leadership skills, explored the history of voting rights, the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights movement, and the current conversation on voting rights. Students also explored how history impacts today and how they can become civically engaged young people.
