student presenting to faculty

May 16 was Senior Capstone Presentations day at CHS, the culmination of a major research and presentation project Chatham seniors completed as part of Chatham’s unique set of graduation requirements known as the Senior Capstone Program. Each senior developed a thesis of their choosing and presented their argument to a panel of faculty members. During their presentations, the students demonstrated their ability to conduct research, think analytically and creatively, articulate their ideas, and integrate data, personal experiences, knowledge and multiple sources of media into their arguments.  The early dismissal for pre-k through grade 11 students allowed Chatham's entire faculty to serve on the grading panels.

The Senior Capstone Program prepares our seniors for success after graduation by giving them a sense of progression into adulthood and personal ownership of their education. Congratulations to our seniors on completing this milestone in their academic careers!
