Community- The Chatham Central School District, composed of the Village of Chatham and several other rural communities, is located in Columbia County. The district is within a 30-mile commuting distance to Albany, New York. The village is a well-established community, residential in nature. One elementary school, one middle school, and one high school serve the approximately 875 students enrolled in Pre-K through grade 12.
School- Chatham High School is a public, comprehensive high school with an enrollment of approximately 291 students in grades 9-12.
Accreditation- The New York State Department of Education and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Advanced Placement Courses- English Literature, Biology, United States History, European History, World History, and Calculus AB (Pre-AP courses in English).
Dual-Enrollment- The following courses are available for students to earn college credit: Spanish IV and Spanish V, Psychology, Sociology, Agricultural Business, Business Law, Environmental Science, Intro to Computer Science, Software Development, Economics and Advanced Placement Biology..
New Visions Programs through Questar III: Students may earn college credit while completing a concentration in a career focused program at an area college or hospital.
Grading System- a 100-point numerical grading system is in effect. Course grades are the straight numerical average of all quarter grades and final/Regents exams. Minimum passing grade is 65. A cumulative weighted Grade Point Average (“Wt GPA” on transcript) is computed for each student. This average is used in determining class rank.
Pre-AP final course grades are weighted 3%. All Advanced Placement final course grades are weighted 6%. The weighted Grade Point Average is computed as follows: each weighted grade is multiplied by its credit value; the grades are then totaled, and divided by the number of credits attempted. Student Rankings are reported in 5% intervals.
