The Holly Volley
A last-day-before-holiday-break tradition at CMS is the annual volleyball tournament. Teams from grades six, seven and eight as well as a faculty team duke it out for bragging rights. This year the 8th grade was the victorious student team, but fell to the faculty team in the last game.
Eating Healthy Starts With Learning How To Cook
Guest educators from the Sylvia Center at Katchkie Farm in Kinderhook lead a nutrition lesson for the 8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences class, which included the students making a healthy kale salad using fresh ingredients and learning how to safely use kitchen utensils.
Holiday Mentor Feast
A tradition at CMS, students and mentors from the CMS mentoring program gathered together to enjoy a holiday feast before the holiday break. Along with turkey and all the trimmings, they enjoyed spending time together as a group and playing bingo. The mentor program pairs students with adult mentors from the community.

Service Club Visits Senior Living Center
The CMS Service Club took a trip to the Whittier Place Assisted Living Center in Ghent to spend time with the residents there. Together they made door hangings, played bingo and talked about the holidays, school activities, and their memories of Chatham.
