Chatham’s School Board Election will be held as part of the annual School Budget Vote on June 9, 2020 by absentee ballot only, per an executive order issued by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
There are three candidates running for three open seats on the Board of Education. The candidates will appear on the ballot in the following order:
Candidates elected to the Board of Education on June 9, 2020 will serve a three-year term each, commencing July 1, 2020 and expiring on June 30, 2023, to succeed incumbents Rachel Galvin, Matthew Fisch, and Patricia Wilson.
To be eligible to vote you must be:
• A citizen of the United States 18 years of age or older
• A resident of the Chatham Central School District for a period of 30 days or more directly preceding the date of the vote
• Registered to vote with either the School District or the Columbia County Board of Elections
You must be registered with either the County Board of Elections or the Chatham Central School District to vote on the School Budget and Board of Education Election. Anyone who meets the definition of a “qualified voter” but has not registered to vote must do so to receive an absentee ballot. A qualified voter may register with the county or with the school district. Voter registration with the school district will be conducted on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Mary E. Dardess Elementary building. Voting By Absentee Ballot
Every eligible voter will receive an absentee ballot and a postage-paid return envelope in the mail. Absentee ballots must be returned to the Office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the vote, 50 Woodbridge Avenue, Chatham, NY 12037.
