Update on In-person Learning at CHS

(April 14, 2020)

Greetings CHS Families,

In my last communication with you I indicated that I would be hoping to invite more students back to in-person learning for the 4th quarter. I am sure that many of you have seen reports of a change in guidance for schools about social distancing and we have received those new directives from the NYS Department of Health. Unfortunately, the guidelines are being interpreted differently by each county Department of Health, so at this time we are not at all sure we will be able to make that transition. Over the next three days we have multiple discussions planned with the Department of Health, as well as with our regional school districts.

I will have more definitive information for you by the end of the week. Please know that it is my intention to invite as many students back to in-person instruction as possible under the new guidelines. I am sorry for the delay and I continue to appreciate your patience.

Sincerely,

John T. Thorsen
High School Principal
