Student Brings it “Out of the Book” With 3-D Model

Abri Amorim, a fifth grade student in Maria Hogencamp’s class, was inspired by his class’ reading of Titanic; Voices from the Disaster to create a replica of the Titanic to “bring it out of the book.”

Over three days, using only cardboard, paint, hot glue, and twinkle lights, he created this large replica of the ship. Abri says he thinks “the ship was magnificent and massive for its time” and he personally thinks it was “wonderful.” Abri says that by building the model he “hopes it will inspire others to try things, not give up and that whatever you put your mind to, you can do it.”  His model is currently on display in Mrs. Hogencamp’s classroom.
