Global Partners presented Chatham High School with a $500 grant as part of ExxonMobil’s Educational Alliance Program. CHS will use the money to further its Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) program at.
For nearly 10 years, Global Partners LP (Global) has been able to facilitate grants to local schools throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland through its collaboration with ExxonMobil’s Educational Alliance Program. This year, $182,500 will be given to 365 schools. The contribution will specifically help fund STEM programs.
Our school was nominated for the grant through the local ExxonMobil distributor and our local ExxonMobil station, which is Charron’s Station on Church Street in Chatham.
“It really comes down to our local Territory Managers (TM’s) working closely with their local Exxon- and Mobil-branded station owners to choose the schools they feel would benefit the most from these innovative grants,” said Louis Parison, Global’s Brand Programs Manager. “A lot of our grants each year go to the same schools which helps them to truly develop a consistent STEM program. And our TM’s are vested in their local communities, and the local Exxon- and Mobil-branded stations in town also want to support these educational efforts.”
“This Educational Alliance Program is a nationwide initiative that ExxonMobil funds and helps promote,” said Parison. “It really happens though on the local level and I am very proud of our teams. There is a tremendous amount of dedication and effort from our TM’s and their local stations working together to utilize our portion of ExxonMobil’s nationwide allotment.”
“Each year at this time, our Global TM’s and Exxon- and Mobil-branded station partners look forward to giving out these educational grants,” Parison continued. “It’s extremely fulfilling and heartfelt to know that you are helping make a difference in the lives of children by enhancing their educational experience. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.”
During these times of COVID, Global TM’s will be mailing the grants to each school instead of hand delivering the checks on-site. In lieu of a traditional check presentation photo, Global TM’s are asking the schools to take a photo of their teams putting this grant into action and even sharing what ExxonMobil calls “Aha Moments” of learning. “Even though we cannot be present at the schools, all of us at Global Partners are committed to helping our schools and communities thrive and we are excited that this collaboration with ExxonMobil helps us to continue making a difference, especially in the lives of today’s young students,” said Andrew Slifka, Global’s Executive Vice President.
