The Chatham Education Foundation (CEF) works to enhance and enrich the educational experience of students and teachers in the Chatham Central School District.
In the past, teachers, community members, parents, educators, and cultural and educational institutions were encouraged to apply for grant funding for enrichment projects that enhance the educational experience of Chatham public school students. This year, in response to the pandemic, the CEF is also providing funding to support educators responding to educational needs and concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications submitted for this funding should address how the funds would be used to prepare them, their colleagues, students or school community to adapt to educational challenges experienced or expected due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Examples could include:
- Addressing the social and emotional needs of educators, students, and students’ families
- Learning new ways of teaching and/or adapting curricula to support distance/virtual learning and instruction
- Providing educational enrichment to support student learning; this could be a virtual presentation from a museum, speaker, virtual field trip, etc.
- Strengthening educators’/schools’ engagement with families and communities to meet student needs
The deadline for grant applications is February 22, 2021. Please go to this link to apply:
