All Schools Fully Remote Dec. 23

(December 22, 2020)

Dear Chatham Families,

Due to an unprecedented strain on staffing levels caused by a variety of reasons, all Chatham schools will pivot to fully-remote learning for Wednesday, December 23, 2020. This applies to all students in all grades. While I know this may be a considerable inconvenience for many of our families, the pivot to remote learning is a necessary measure that allows us to safely and effectively deliver instruction to our students during this staff shortage.

As with every day school is in session, grab-and-go meals are available for our remote-learning students at no cost. Pick up is from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the MED front door. Please email or call Barb Murray (, 518-392-1536) to reserve your meals.

Transportation will be provided for private/parochial school, CTE, and other out-of-district-placed students only.

If you need child care for tomorrow, Chatham Kids Club has availability on a first-come, first-served basis (fees apply). Please contact Courtney at Chatham Kids Club at or 518-392-9848.

Our holiday recess begins Thursday, December 24 and in-person learning in all schools is scheduled to resume January 4, 2021. Should we need to make any changes to our plan for when students return, we will notify you as far in advance as possible. Please be aware that, as with any emergency changes we must make to our school operations, providing notification well in advance is often impossible, but that we notify our families as soon as we are able to.

Superintendent of Schools
