(December 16, 2020)
Dear Chatham Families,
We were informed that two CCSD transportation employees have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This impacts a bus run that transports a small number of out-of-district-placed students only. The employees last worked on December 11. Our District assisted the Columbia County Department of Health (DOH) today in conducting contact tracing and anyone needing to quarantine has been notified.
CMS and MED will continue with in-person learning as usual and, as we notified you of yesterday, CHS will continue with fully-remote learning through December 23, 2020.
While we understand that you may want more details, privacy laws prohibit us from sharing or confirming personally identifiable information about anyone who has tested positive. We appreciate your understanding of this.
Our District continues to follow the safety precautions outlined in our reopening plan, with the health, welfare, and safety of our students and staff our priority. Any student or staff member who is confirmed to have or is suspected of having COVID-19, or who has been identified by the DOH as a close contact to an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, is not allowed to return until cleared by the DOH. We notify our families about all confirmed student and staff cases. We continue to work in close partnership with our public health partners and follow the guidance of state and local authorities regarding our response to the ongoing pandemic. We ask that our families continue to follow COVID-19 safety measures at home as well.
