Dear Chatham Central School District Community,
I want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Our schools and offices will be closed this Thursday and Friday for the holiday, so please take the next few days to relax, rejuvenate, and reflect on the things that are important to you.
I know the last several months have been stressful on everyone. This certainly is not a traditional Thanksgiving by any measure, but as your superintendent, I still have much to be thankful for. Despite all of the obstacles and challenges we have faced, our schools have risen to the occasion. Our staff, students, and families have all played a vital role in our mission to ensure we all stay safe. Our District is part of a community that continues to step up to support our students and help our schools make the most of a tough situation for everyone, everyday. And I’m thankful that, compared to many other areas of the country, infections in our area are relatively low and we have been able to keep our buildings open for in-person learning.
There is concern that the holiday season may bring a further uptick in infections, so I encourage
everyone to be responsible and celebrate safely this year. We need all of you to remain healthy!
If future circumstances do require us to make changes to how we deliver instruction, such as by pivoting to fully-remote learning, we will likely have to make those changes with little advance notice. Please know we will do our best to provide you with as much forewarning as we can.
In closing, there is much evidence as to the benefits of being grateful, so please join me in showing gratitude this Thanksgiving.
Wishing you health and happiness,
