Note to Families from Mrs. Reno

(October 16, 2020)

MED Families,

We made it through two full weeks of in-person learning! Thank you for all your cooperation. Your support is what enables us to continue to do our very best!

Just a few things:

  • Thank you to all who do the health screen in the morning. It really makes a difference. If you could do the screening by 7:15 a.m. that would be great!

  • As we want to spend much time outside, we will be accessing the beautiful nature trails along the high school. Please do a routine tick check on your child.

  • If you have any health questions, or concerns, please make sure you also include Mrs. Fabiano in your communication with your child’s teacher. Her email is

  • If your child is going to be absent from school, please call to let us know using the NEW MED attendance line, at (518) 392-2255 ext 2.

  • Below are the pick-up times for students. Please make sure you come during your designated pick up time to avoid congestion at the door.

    • 1:30-1:40 PreK, Kindergarten and First Grade

    • 1:40-1:50 Second and Third Grade

    • 1:50-2:00 Fourth and Fifth Grade

  • If you are dropping off your child in the morning, please have them all ready to exit the vehicle once they have been cleared to be here. This will help with the traffic congestion coming down the hill.

  • For the safety of all students, we will not be having a Halloween parade or parties. Our PTA has created a Spirit Week of safe things we can do to celebrate throughout the week of 10/26-10/30. On Friday, 10/30, we will allow students to wear safe costumes to school. Due to our COVID safety requirements, there can be no costume masks and no makeup. Students who would like to wear a costume will need to come to school wearing their costume. We will not be changing in and out of costumes at school. We have been informed that the local fire departments will be hosting a drive-thru trick or treat on Halloween at the fairgrounds. Please check out the Chatham Fire Department Facebook page for more information.
