CHS, CMS and MED now have several picnic tables on campus that allow for social distancing and activities outside such as classes and lunch, thanks to the generosity of our community. A great addition for days with nice weather, such as today! Chatham High School’s principal, John Thorsen, contacted Columbia County Fair Board member Eric Barnes (who is also Chatham’s fire chief) to inquire if the fairgrounds had any picnic tables it could loan to our school for the upcoming school year, and of course, Mr. Barnes and the Fair Board stepped up to help! Along with the Fair Board, special thanks go out to Board of Education member Craig Simmons and Simmons Automotive, as well as Arch Bridge Farm for getting the tables from the fair grounds to our campus. “We have an amazing community, one that continuously steps up for our youth,” said Mr. Thorsen.
