Letter to MED Families on Return to In-Person Learning

(October 2, 2020)

Hello families!

It has been amazing having your children in the building this past week. There have been lots of smiles from both students and staff! The overwhelming positive emails I have received from families about your child’s experience this past week has been incredible. I know this is a stressful and unpredictable time, but working with you and your family has been exceptionally rewarding. Chatham is a very special place.

I just wanted to touch base on a few things before everyone is in the building on Monday.

  • We appreciate your patience regarding arrival and dismissal. It hasn’t gone unnoticed! We are asking parents who are dropping off students not to get out, but to remain in their vehicles. If you are pulling into the circle, we ask that students exit your vehicle on the right hand side for safety. We do anticipate some longer lines when all students are in the building on Monday.  We appreciate your patience and cooperation in advance!

  • Just a reminder that pick up times are as follows:

    • 1:30-1:40 – Prek, K and First grades

    • 1:40-1:50- Second and Third grades

    • 1:50-2:00- Fourth and Fifth grades

  • All dismissal changes need to be to the office by 10:00 a.m.

  • Unfortunately this year we will not be able to have snacks in school to celebrate birthdays.  Thanks for your understanding.

  • While we have extra masks in school, if you would like, you can send your child in with additional masks.

  • If your child is in one of the primary grades, we ask that you send an extra change of clothes to school.

  • Please remember to do the health screening every morning by 7:20.

We are looking forward to a very exciting school year.
