Dear MED Parents,
First and foremost, welcome back! We have missed seeing your children in our hallways and classrooms! We wanted to share some modifications to the drop-off and pick-up procedures this year. Changes have been made to maintain social distancing and to meet health screening requirements, but also to allow for increased traffic flow in the parking lot as many families have opted for driving children rather than utilizing bus transportation.
The same routine for dropping off students at the front door will be utilized this year, however there will be cones on both the inner and outer lanes. When it is your turn, we ask that you pull up to the cone furthest ahead in your lane and wait for staff to ask you to let your student(s) out. Please do not exit your car. As you wait for your turn to drop off your child, we encourage you to complete the daily Health Screening if you forgot before you came to school. We will ask you to remain in your car until we screen your child. We also ask that walkers not arrive at MED before 7:45 am as there will be no supervision to ensure social distancing outside the front door.
Parents will be able to pick-up children according to the schedule below. The pick-up location has changed from the sunroom doors to the entrance near the gym to the left of the main entrance. You must park in a parking spot as the inner lane will be blocked off. Please arrive during the time slot designated for your child’s grade and have your ID ready. If you have children in multiple grades we will send both students with the younger child. After showing your ID you will be asked to wait along the front of the school on the social distance markers. We will send your child out to you. Please note, changes to your child’s dismissal plans must be made by 10:00 am. Walkers will be dismissed at 2:10 pm as they have in the past.

Grade 4 & 5
These changes may take a few additional minutes, so please plan accordingly, and thank you in advance for your flexibility, patience, and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process.
