End of the School Year Updates

(May 21)

Good afternoon CCSD families. I am writing to share some additional details with you about the end of the school year.

The last day of classes for students and teachers will be June 18, 2020. At that point we will have reached the state-required 180 session days. Additionally, we want to reaffirm that Monday, May 25th is a holiday and that there will be no remote learning. We wish you a restful Memorial Day Weekend.

Parents will be able to drop off textbooks, library books, and school-owned musical instruments on Tuesday, May 26, and Wednesday, May 27, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. – the same times we have provided for parents to pick up personal belongings left at school. We ask that you drive up to the designated areas described in our May 19 letter and remain in your car to allow us to provide “curbside service” for the safety of both you and our employees.

With the exception of our graduating seniors, all students will be able to keep school-owned chromebooks over the summer. Mr. Thorsen and Mr. Forrest will communicate further instructions to seniors and their families.

We are so proud of the hard work of Chatham’s students and staff during these unprecedented times. As we continue planning for the future, our priority will always be the safety and health of our community. Here’s to a strong finish to the academic year!
