Chatham CSD Families,
I wanted to make you aware that technical support for our families is available while school is out. If you run into technical difficulties with your school supplied device or while trying to access our online learning resources, we ask that you send an email to our Information Technology Department at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, if you do not have access to the Internet or need a device for your child to access online learning resources, we may be able to help. Please contact the IT office at 518.392.2400 extension 4041 (leave a message) or at the email address above.
I also wanted to remind you that while spending time outdoors is fine as long as you practice social distancing, health officials are warning people to avoid using playgrounds and other high-touch outdoor areas. Recent studies have shown that the COVID-19 virus can survive on surfaces anywhere from a few hours up to several days. It is believed that COVID-19 can be spread by touching a surface contaminated with the virus and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. For this reason, the playground areas on our campuses are closed to the public.
We are currently looking for clarification from the governor’s office as to if there will be any changes to when students return to school. We will continue to keep you updated if and when we hear anything further.
Stay safe and healthy,
Dr. Sal DeAngelo
Superintendent of Schools
