School Board Nominating Petitions Now Available

(Updated March 30, 2020)

As of March 30, Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order postponing school board elections until “at least June 1 … subject to further directives.”

Want to serve your school and community? Nominating petitions to run for the office of Member of the Board of Education are now available from the Chatham Central School District Clerk. The Board has three seats open for election on May 19, 2020.

Board candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must be nominated by petition. Candidates must be able to read and write, be a current resident of the District for at least one year, and be a qualified voter of the district (citizen of the U.S., at least 18 years of age or older). Petitions must be returned to the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 20, 2020 (this may be subject to change due to the vote being postponed)

With our District currently closed to visitors and operating at reduced staffing levels, please contact our District Clerk, Deborah Pottenburgh, at 518-392-1501 or  to make arrangements to get your petition packet.
