The District has assembled learning materials in an effort to provide continuing academic engagement during the period of cancelled classes. All three buildings will be open from 9:00 am-6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17 for our families to pick up these materials. IMPORTANT: Parents, students, and visitors will not be able to access buildings after Tuesday until further notice.
All teachers will be checking their emails and/or other classroom platforms during the time that classes are cancelled. Feel free to reach out to your teacher via his or her individual communication tools. Teachers will also be reaching out with you.
Building Pick Up Protocols for March 17, 2020:
Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we know there may be parking challenges throughout the day. For safety, we respectfully ask that you help reduce the amount of people in the buildings by limiting the number of family members you bring with you. Due to the differing needs of our students and the difference in the layouts of our buildings, the pickup procedures will vary by location.
Medication Pick Up at All Three Buildings
Any student that has medication in any of the three health offices and would like to retrieve it should please call the school nurse. Pickup must occur on Tuesday, March 17 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. (518.392.2400 then: MED – x3004, CMS – x2010, CHS – x1006)
MED Elementary School
Materials pick up will be in the gymnasium. Please enter the building through the doorway near the gymnasium. Inside there will be tables labeled by grade level and classroom. A packet with your child’s name will be on the corresponding table. There will also be a table with encore (music, art, physical education, and library) and counselor’s materials as well. No one will be able to access any other part of the building. If you need something from another area of the building, please see someone at the table labeled “Information.” As soon as you get your child’s materials you will need to leave through the marked exit in the gymnasium
Please be mindful that if you have multiple students in different grades, you must follow each individual grade’s protocol.
6th grade – Enter through the main doors on Woodbridge Ave. Pick up will be in the 6th grade hallway. A packet with your child’s name and a chromebook will be on a table organized by homeroom. 7th grade- Enter through the Middle School Library entrance on Woodbridge Ave. Pick up will be in the Middle School library. A packet with your child’s name and a chromebook will be on a table organized by homeroom. If you need to retrieve personal belongings from a locker please ask for assistance. 8th grade- Pick up will be in the gymnasium. A packet with your child’s name and a chromebook will be on a table organized by homeroom. Life Skills- Please enter the building through the Life Skills entrance on Library Place. The class table will be at the back door to the life skills room.
The High School will be open for students and families if they need to pick up chromebooks, access library materials, materials from teachers, or anything from their locker. Access to the building will be through the main entrance. We ask that students and families pick up their necessities as quickly as possible in order to accommodate everyone’s needs. Teachers will be in their classrooms and available for questions up until 3:00 pm. The majority of teachers have sent out work directly to students via email or google classroom.

Students or parents can feel free to contact their teachers, administrators or the main office with any questions. Teachers will be available via email, Class Dojo, Google Classroom, or other platforms throughout the cancellation period. Our District will continue to reach out to our families to keep you updated on the situation as it progresses.
